Are you ready for some football!!?!

I am but evidently Hank, ehhhh not so much.  As I am sure all of you are aware by now that Hank here said some things maybe made some comparisons in poor taste about our President. I am not going to lie I found myself laughing because that is the sort of thing some drunk, and he sure did sound drunk, would say!

Was it the smartest thing in the world to say on Fox & Friends?  Heck no that type of crap you say at the bar or during the daily show!  So now Mr. Hank found himself looking strait down the barrel of a shit cannon full of media retards looking to hang his hill billy ass out to dry, and some how turn his poor choice of words into something bigger than it really should be!  Oh and did I mention he lost his job?

Click past to break to see how I think this is going to go down.  Can anyone say "party politics fight" or "liberal media blow up!"?  Let me give you some dead advice!

New car on St. Patricks day

I think it is amusing that we inadvertantly purchased a green car on St. Patricks day.

Yeah well Ford Fiesta up in this bitch, pretty decent drive and gets fantastic mileage, not much more to ask for when you do a lot of commuting.

RIFT:Latest beta info

Well I got a chance to play some of the latest Rift beta and I have to admit they really worked a lot of the kinks out!  Graphics seem to be smoothed out and the game play issues mostly worked out as well.

I finally got a chance to mess around with PvP in the game and I really don't have much to complain about when it comes to game play or balance.  I did not see much "one shotting" going on and the war fronts (Battle grounds) are unique and fun.

PvE is overall pretty fun, this in itself is difficult for me to say since I typically despise grinding in a game but it moves along quick and the scenery changes enough to not bore me to tears.  The occasional Rift busts open adding some flavor to what could become a boring grind out in the various areas.

However after all this I am pretty certain I will not be purchasing this game.  Being that Rift is subscription based I am just not willing to toss money at something that is only partially what I want to play, after all I just got done doing this with WoW.  Read on if you care to know why.
Long story short Rift is a great game!  The whole thing is great but there are a few things keeping me from purchasing this and what may keep them from taking over the MMO world.
  1. PvP lacks purpose.  So you kill people, gain "faction", get achievements, and later get PvP specific souls but who cares.  Basically there isn't an incentive to win and honestly there hasn't been a game since DAOC and  Warhammer that has.  I firmly believe that if there isn't a decent PvP model built into a MMO it is a deal breaker for a lot of gamers.
  2. PvE is pretty good, but I really could care less about PvP
  3. Seriously, the huge ad campaign they have been running on how they are the anti-wow....well WoW players are in for some serious disappointment.  WoW has been around for how many years and Rift comes along trying to up-sell that?  I am not a WoW fan boy but they have alot of crap down pretty good and them be some foot steps to follow in if you catch my drift.
In summary I just got over a long stint with WoW.  The last year or so I had no idea why I was even paying since PvE and PvP both started to blow ass.  I am no ready to pay a monthly fee to grind up to potentially be stuck in the same old routine.  I will stick to my Bad Company 2 and click to shoot peoples faces off

I can't be the only one who sees a problem here

To the left is Carol Mosley Braun she wants to be mayor of Chicago IL and has a tendency to say some really dumb crap but what politician doesn't.  I am not writing to educate the reader about how she is crooked but rather on one of many stories going on about her and how people like her use the race card to push their agenda.

In ChicagoNow there is this specific entry by Marksallan that I first heard about on the radio show "Sherman and Tingle" on Q101 that made me say WTF to the point that I just had to read it.  This entry pissed me off so much that I decided to write about it despite the fact that I know it will get the fingers pointing at me for being "racist" and the such.  So that being said here we go.

I always thought, and was taught by my parents, that when it comes people you don't judge them by their color, religion, or sex but rather their core character, values, and how they make you feel.  This same thing HAD been applied to politics for the longest time until recently!  Most people would cast a vote for the person they felt would do them and their community the best while having the same core values as the voter.  Well honestly I can't say I remember those days as I have been seeing the following things as normal since I started caring about politics myself.
  1. Political Party Pissing Match(PPPM) This is were you got Democrats saying they won't do what Republican is doing and vice versa
  2. Money Talks:  Lets face the facts we will never see a true "Joe the Plumber" become president, mayor, or even Governor because he and I do not have millions to dump on T-shirts and bumper stickers.
  3. Smear Tactics: Seriously?!?!?! This one always gets me, lets have two grown adults spend millions of dollars to put adds out saying "so and so will rape your grandma" .  I wonder why our economy is in the shitter, you ass clowns put that money to some good use!  Guess what I smoke weed when I was young, lots of it and I did inhale pretty sure I could make better decisions in my community then some Ivy league ass clown!
The latest and greatest tactic in politics is playing the race card, ok well it may not be "new" but it is definately #1 since the election of our current President!  Pay attention to that entry note that 11 times he refers to black people and how they should vote for her not because she is better for Chicago than Rahm Emanuel but because

"this election is being during Black History Month, and Black voters have the numbers to elect the first Mayor from the Black community since Harold Washington"

Really???!!! Seriously??!!  First off I think that both Carol and Rahm are not going to be good for Chicago at all but that is a different entry all together.  If  a white, Asian, or Hispanic person were to write a similar article but substitute Carol for a person of their race you can bet your ass you would have Jesse Jackson knocking on their door with a pile of demonstrators, or asking to have a love child with your daughter.

TL;DR
Voting should not be a "race thing" but rather take into consideration what the elected official is going to do for you and your community!

People reading this from other states and other countries.  Yes Chicago, IL is that dumb but still best city EVAH!

Oh and what did you expect for a person from corrupt IL for President??  Ahhhhh that one is for you Mr President!

Inb4: You are racist, you are a moron, etc blah blah blah.  I happen to be a "Wexican" 1/2Mexican rest White and no I don't like taco bell

Winter stormz OMGz

Bring it bitches!!  Living in one of the many Chicago suburbs it looks as if I will be in the line of fire as far as these storms are concerned!

It may potentially dump 20+ inches of snow and the n3ews has sent a majority of people into a panic out buying up entire grocery stores and the lot.  While I haven't seen that much snow since '99 it shouldn't be to big of problem so long as people use common sense and city services actually take care of the snow.

So this writer is preparing for the worst but just expecting an ass ton of snow an possibly a snow day :-)

RIFT:The follow up

I mentioned yesterday that I was going to give Rift a try as soon as I returned for the day and that I did.

First off the game is still in Beta and I won't be spending time on problems that come along with that.  So yes there are login, lag, and quest issues but that is going to happen even after the initial release so lets get on to it.

Character Creation: You log in, pick your rule set server (PVP) and pick your faction.  In my case I chose Defiant Bahmi.  I rolled a mage and got to the customization, the process of making your character your own was very detailed you could change things as little as the size of the eyes to the height/build of your toon.  Long story short a lot of different ways you can make your character your own.

Class system(spec):I will try and explain this with as little confusion as possible.  Rift is a bit different when it comes to class systems, but while it may seem overly complicated once you get into it, well it isn't.  Rift Asscended class systems is compromised of "souls" which grow as you level.  So I chose a Mage and I gain a level I can then put points in the "branches" of the soul tree, conversely as you level you automatically gain abilities in the "root" of the soul tree, add to that you can have three different souls and it gets pretty daunting.
Above is an example of the system except not for my mage I forgot to take a screen shot.  So I borrowed this picture
A) Is the branches of the soul tree
B)Would be the soul calling, or class
C) Root abilities
E)The points to spend

The trees to the left and right are the additional souls this person chose.  Why is this differnent?  Simple I will tell you how I did mine and why
Warlock: I love my WoW lock and tossing dots off so that was my decision there.
Necromancer: In this game the Necro relies on his pet to do damage and use spells to augment how effective his pet is.  Not like wow were you can do dots and pet damage.
Chloramance: Allows me to bring some utility to a group along the lines of some healing.
In my tree I am going heavy on Warlock and a sprinkling in Necromancy.  My goal is to do good DPS while having a pet by my side, not sure how it will work out but that's my plan.  As you see the choices are vast and even if you have no idea the game suggests pairings with your main selection to help you out.  If later on you find you do not like the pairings you can "respec"

This alone makes Rift stand out, this isn't a uncommon method but it is newer for those of us in the West.

Game play:  If you have played Warhammer Online, or Aion then you are probably would slide right into Rift without to much trouble if not then let me go further.  You have your standard MMO controls 'B' for bags 'c' for character pain and WASD for movement.  Targeting seems to work well it isn't an epic pain in the ass to click on your target and you can also tab target.  The controls are all fluid and functions highly customisable, the UI is also very well built but it may be HUGE depending on what resolution you play at but that is all something that can be changed.

Since I brought up the UI I want to mention that it is fully customizable you can move and size objects however you desire something that WoW doesn't really have stock.  I came across a UI like this when playing Warhammer and fell in love with it there, I hate using Addons for things that I should be able to see or move already and those aren't problems you will have in Rift.
More after the break.

Graphics: Stunning, not much else I can say.  If you have the hardware crank this bitch up and be blown away, however I did run into a couple spots when Rifts opened and it kicked my PC in the nuts, but it is to be expected with older PC's.

Sound: Well it didn't sound right, to me at least.  I only have a mid range stereo setup and it seemed to be trying to run 5 channels some on occasion things would be feint and then seconds later I was reaching for the volume nob.  This may be something on the bug list, but in my opinion sound isn't on the top of my list for importance.

Overall the game is good however I haven't been able to PvP so no clue how that rolls and it does seem kind of grindy at times.  Will I be buying Rift??  Not sure yet at the moment I am lacking funds so I will probably have to hold off but in my opinion this is definitely not a WoW killer

Rift: You son of a bitch

Alright so as I have a love hate relationship with MMORPGS and the last few new ones that rolled out sucked complete ass for one reason or another and despite the fact that I really don't enjoy WoW as much as I used to, game cards still magically appear in my posession.

Enter Rift a game that is basically advertising itself as a WoW killer.  That in itself doesn't mean crap since they aren't the first to claim this.  I read about the game and while it looks pretty, which is good, it has a few things going for it that set it aside from Warcraft and got my attention.

Mainly the questing and grouping seems a little less of a pain in Rift which after 6 years of WoW play time behind my belt it seems that WoW has gravitated to an elitist only model.

The other thing that peeked my interests is class specialization, instead of being limited to three there are many choices through "soul attunement" 4 classes lots of choices for each class.

Long story short I will have another story here in the next couple days since I finally got into a wave of testing that just got started today.  All patched up and ready to so check back tomorrow for some more details

Can the iPhone do this?

Hah!! Now what Apple lets see one of your "you are holding it wrong" phones up in space controlling a satellite!

From a story I came across on Engadget it looks like a Mavericks Civilian Space Foundation is going to be using a Android handset to control the satellite.

I wont lie I didn't even bother to look at why they are using it or how exactly it is going to work but I smiled and a bit of my heart warmed up as this kind of stuff is exactly what I expected to see from Android.  Plus it amuses me that it is another kick in the elitist Apple communities nuts.

Suicide attempt fail

Another interesting story I came across on the Giz was about a woman who failed at trying to kill herself not that it was a botched attempt really the fact that she survived is a miracle.

She decided it was to much and jumped from the 23rd floor and landed on a NY taxi and apart from sustaining some serious injury is still alive, and so is the driver who just left his car.

Lady is it seriously that bad were you needed to die?  Let alone ruin that guys car, now how is he suppose to feed his 25 children?!

Taco Bell: This one is for you people who think it is quality food.

This shouldn't come as a suprise to anyone, but for those who still held on to the thought that Taco Bell had remotely decent grade foods here goes some facts against that.

I came across this on Gizmodo and I never knew how much meat isn't in the taco meat!

Taco Bell isn't my first choice for food but I have been known to visit at least once every couple months with some friends just to remind ourselves why we don't eat there.  A normal TB visit for us is accompanied with pissing out our buttholes a few hours after to which we then remember why we never go there.  It is more of a ritual preformed quarterly to make us grateful that we don't have to eat that crap all the time and have other choices.

More iPhone crap

So I happen to catch the latest iPhone commerical in which they have two of the phones running various functions on the Verizon and ATT network.

Long story short it is a attempt by Apple at luring the crowd back in to buy their shitty device.  As I am sure you know for the longest time the phone was only available to customers on ATT and the rest of the coutnry was given the middle finger.

See the problem is along the way a challenger arrived by the name of Andriod.  The OS itself had some issues at the jump but hand set vendors jumped on the opportunity and together they have grown to become a force to be reconned with and in my humble opinion my Samsung Galaxy whoops the shit out of the iPhone hands down.  So if you want a quick laugh here is the latest commerical.

A software update is available for the Samsung Vibrant. It updates the device from Android 2.1 (Éclair) to Android 2.2 (Froyo). This upgrade includes Wi-Fi calling, USB / Wi-Fi tethering, and various software enhancements.

The update is build number T959UVKA6 also known as KA6.

Important Notes:

The upgrade to KA6 is NOT required.
You may opt out of the upgrade and continue using build number T959UVJI6.
If you are still using build T959UVJFD (aka JFD), we suggest that you upgrade using this process for various software enhancements.

This upgrade will not be sent to customers Over the Air (OTA) - Instead, you must install the upgrade by connecting your  Vibrant to a PC using Samsung Kies Mini software.

FAQs

Will I be notified of the KA6 update?
No.  Since the update is not being set via OTA, the customer will not receive any notification of the update on their device.

Can I still use my phone while the update happens?
No.  During the update, the phone must stay connected to the computer and will not be available for use.

Do I have to update my phone?
No, this  software update is optional but is recommended in order to experience optimal performance and new features such as WiFi Calling. It’s very easy to update your phone and will only take a  few minutes.

Will the update affect my data or contacts?
The update should not affect any content or contacts loaded to the device.  You should still back up all data, however, to prevent accidental loss due to unforseeable issues with the upgrade.  Make sure that you also back up the contents of the internal (non-removable) SD card to avoid unnecessary loss.

I upgraded directly from version JFD to KA6 and now I'm having problems.
T-Mobile and Samsung are aware of some issues that may occur when upgrading directly from JFD to this newest version.  We're working to address these issues.

Can I manually request a KA6 update push?
No. The upgrade is not available over the air.

If I downloaded JI5 through the overseas version of Samsung Kies, will I get the KA6 update using Kies Mini?
Yes.  Kies Mini does support an update path from JI5 to KA6.

When do adults start acting "grown up"

Truth is no one acts grown up, rather we tend to act in a different nature than we did back in the day.  Most of us will still through a bitch fit now and again over something stupid but hey it happens to all of us right??

I have noticed that when you get enough adults together in the same room for extended periods of time a certain group of said adults will revert back to their high school ways, and that is when the drama starts and I want to punch people in the face.

This is a two fold thing, some people just don't act there age and truly are acting out like they were still in high school, other people seem to have a yearning for drama and either starting it or jumping in and joining right up!

Fact is who cares what Timmy said about Johnny that is their problem!!  Chalk it up to why can't everyone keep there nose in there own business, but then again life would be boring if we did that

Pig faced hot chick

Now that I got your attention I wanted to drop a quick note on a movie I watched with the wife the other night that goes by the name of Penelope.

First off I am not the type of guy who goes out of my way to watch romantic comedies but since we have Netflix doesn't take long before you watched everything on your mental list and you are left with movies you have never heard of, in comes Penelope.

Not going to lie this movie was chosen for two different reasons.  I saw the info and saw Christina Ricci was in it, my wife on the other hand read it was a romantic comedy and so we continue on.

Christina plays Penelope a young woman born into a wealthy family that was cursed some time ago by a "gypsy" of sorts.  The curse was to afflict the females of the family and long story short Penelope has the facial features of a pig, pig nose that is.  The movie plays along as Penelopes mother searches endlessly for a way to break the curse by having her marry a wealthy man one of her own.  You of course have your bad guys if you want to  call them that and your person who is the love interest.... Long story not a bad movie, no Black Snake Moan but not bad.

The Green Rogen.....

I haven't heard much talk about The Green Hornet film that is coming out but am I the only one who finds Seth Rogen as the lead kind of ridiculous?

How does anyone figure the man that is known as being that one guy in the movie about two pot head homies, or you know that guy who worked at a electronic store and smoked a lot of pot makes for the heroic type?

I like Seth and if he were here right now standing next to me I would probably ask him how the hell did you manage to land this role???  I also would probably slap him in the sack for standing so damn close to me and reading over my shoulder, inconsiderate dildo sheesh.  I don't know then man and I don know how he was chosen but hey maybe this movie will be the best thing ever, or maybe so many people are so unfamiliar with the original GH that they will have no clue.

Either go check it out if you are looking for something to do, and if you see Seth ask him if he can spare a brotha a spliffy!

WoW: Heroic Dungeons and you

Yes kids I am one of the countless ass clowns who play WoW difference is I can still be a good husband, father, and have a social life with friends outside of the game.  Just want to clear that up for those of you lurking ;-)

So Cataclysm has been out for a while now and on top of being the only reason why I made my triumphant return after a year long break it is a breath of fresh air to a game that was quickly becoming a 12 year old face rollers wet dream.  Cataclysm's changes are to many for me to go into here but the one thing everyone noticed is that dungeon and end game content was actually hard which sent the face rolling population into a fit of anger while the rest of the old school gamers found that it reminded them of the olden days of vanilla.

So you just got 85 and got your fill of the normal dungeons and you want to toss your hate in the heroic ring, good for you!  You may have noticed that even the normals seemed more difficult and some of the fight dynamics were more than just stand in one spot for 5 minutes and move on.  Before you Q up for a random I am going to give you 5 tips to keep in mind.  Follow these and so long as everyone else has half a clue you will profit.

  1. Crowd Control-If you are the tank mark something, anything, and at the very least ONE thing to be CC'd.  You will always have at the very least one person that can CC and you should utilize them every pull.  If you have the ability to CC again use it, you will most often get it marked for you but if your type of CC doesn't show up before the pull it should not stop you from adding your own to help out.
  2. Anger Management-As a tank you should be aware as the most effective way to gain and retain hate.  If you need to let the group know to give you a second before they go balls out SPEAK UP!!  DPS don't be retarded, you all have abilities to wipe or reduce hate so if you find yourself gaining threat USE IT.  Don't make the healer work any harder then he or she is.
  3. Mana Management-This one is kinda touchy.  When I tank the pulls continue until I figure the healer would like to drink, in other words if my healer is below 50% after a pull I wait however if DPS casters are at 50% I tend to keep going unless told otherwise.  So as a tank be mindful of those who need to drink and as a healer feel free to speak up you know what you are capable of better than anyone else in the group!
  4. Ask Questions-Keep in mind that most Heroic fights are different than the normals, add to that there are Heroics that do not have a normal version you may have been too, for example Deadmines.  That being said if you are unfamiliar with the fight speak up and ask how it goes, no matter what your roll is.  I guarantee you at least one person will explain it to you and people would rather go over the fight than wipe because you have no clue.
  5. PROFIT-If you follow these basic guidelines you should do fine, keep in mind you may die or even wipe but no biggy rinse and repeat.

Minecraft and you

Minecraft, by now I am sure everyone who games has heard of it or even tried it, and since they just hit 1 million sold I figured I might as well review it.

Now keep in mind Minecraft is what I consider a "sandbox" game in which the only limits of what you can do is your imagination and drive.  That being said I have never been one for games of this nature but being a huge proponent for home grown games I figured it was definitely worth a look.

Minecraft was brought to my attention by my good friend Ash(AKA Evilash) basically told me that I probably wouldn't like it but it is great way to waste time at work, lol.  He also said the game is probably the best thing that happened for individuals with the bug to build things.

You can play Minecraft a couple different ways.  By yourself, with friends, and with mobs.  Armed with my copy of Minecraft and an open mind I launched into Ash's server to see what this was all about continue after the cut to read about my journey.

My first thoughts about this game were negative based exclusively on the graphics.  I am a sucker for pretty things so one can imagine how I felt about the game just by looks.

Looks aside I log onto the latest build of the multi player server (2 months ago) and quickly realize that while the graphics are indeed unique it adds to the feel of the game.  Pick in hand I start fooling around in my little section of the Minecraft world.  First I start tearing up the ground underneath my very feet, then I went and started mining wood from trees and then rocks from the mountain.  I started wandering around and was amazed at how long it took to get from one place to the other and how the weather/terrain would change as I went along.  Then God spoke to me....

Well really it was Ash speaking through the console telling me it would be quicker if I took the rail way and then I could get to his fortress. "Right the rail way, wait what??"  I thought to myself, so he came in showed me to the train station they had build and we made way to his fortress (don't have a screen shot) passing massive holes he had blown into the world, some on accident and some on purpose.  Came across signs placed by another friend of mine clearly stating how bad things are in this cave, I could only guess some sort of mob.

The arrival, it took some time to get there but when we did WOW.   Ash had spent hours building a fortress with a room under the water held together by glass blocks so you could see out and it was amazing, I then managed to break one of the said blocks but thankfully he was able to repair the break right away.  It was at this point that while the game itself is amazing it was like going to your rich relatives house as a child, you know the one who had the collection of cool toys worth a bagilliion dollars, you really wanted to play with them but were afraid you were going to break them.

In the end gave Minecraft an overall 8/10 review even though I doubt I will spend much time with it again, unless I can find away to play it at work.  If you have a creative streak or love sandbox games it is definitely worth it!

  • Gameplay 7/10  Very easy to figure out and get started however player will most likely find themselves on the minecraft wiki to figure out more complex recipes later in the game
  • Graphics 9/10 I gave it a 9 because there just isn't any way possible to have such a vast world that is ever changing and being built look any better without having it on a super computer.  Plus it just fits.
  • Sound 8/10 Music is very fitting witht he game and original, I am more of a play mp3s while playing guy but definitely catchy and soothing
  • Multiplayer 6/10 The game is still in beta and constantly changing while I was able to join my friends and there are mobs they really don't have much of a purpose.  However this game is not about questing and raiding dungeons so I just left them alone.  However it has some bugs but they are always being addressed.

Good old days....

Back when the Modern Warfare franchise didn't suck as hard and wasn't completely sold out to console players I made this video.  Taken during many gaming sessions with a couple of personal friends of mine screwing around on a CoD MW hard core server.

Music by Flobots - Handlebars.  I chose this song because I found the song very well put together and coupled with the fact that they are a very politically driven group it would add to the amusement when it enraged all the extreme liberals AND conservatives that read way to much into everything....which it did if you read the comments.

I would love to make some more videos however every FPS after this one has sucked pretty bad for the PC :-( maybe I will do something with WoW

The queen is back!

Looks as if the queen of /b/ has made a less than triumphant return after a hiatus.  To be honest never really cared to join the legion of anons that followed her around, nor did I join the ranks of those that despised her.  She was one of the lucky few that rode the /b/ wave into internet fame, I watched her first videos and my thoughts were "this bitch is a spazz and annoying but cute".

So the new video is out and she seems to have calmed down quite a bit, isn't nearly as annoying, and for some reason seems to be butt hurt over something.  Well life sucks chick and I am sure with time even you, Boxxy, can move on and recover.  The latest is embedded below if anyone would like to take a look see and if you are looking for comparison check out the old video.

Good game IL

People and small business owners of Illinois, prepare your selves for a hefty tax increase.  A 67% personal income tax and 46% business hike was passed early this morning.  As a resident of IL this does not come as a surprise since Pat Quinn already made it clear that he was intent on raising taxes when he took office.

Hard working residents of the state that are already having tough times can now count on state government on making things more difficult in the coming years unless something changes.  It is my opinion that other options were not explored or used before resorting to drastic tax increases, it shouldn’t come as shock if residents and business’s move from Illinois in the years to come.

Neighboring states have made mention that they could lower business tax and entice business owners from IL to jump state into say Wisconsin.  As business owners have already been struggling who could blame them if they were to move to stay afloat?

Seems to me like quite a stupid move by PQ and our government, keep reading after the cut for more of my thoughts. If anyone in the government is reading please feel free to answer some of the following questions.

•    Budget cuts!!!  Please why are law makers and other government employees making over $200,000 a year and that is not including bonuses?  For a bunch of people that are suppose to represent the people they are sure doing a shitty job.  I can’t imagine many people considered tax hikes in the middle of a recession a good idea.  Do you people really need to make that much money for “work” when you have people working 2-3 jobs barely scraping by with $30,000.
•    Revise Social programs!  Illinois gives way to much money away to people who are not in truly in need!  This goes back to an old post, if you want help work for it!
•    Get rid of the corruption in Illinois!  When you can go just about anywhere and mention you are from IL and the first that pops into their mind is corruption you know you have problems.  We give contracts to “friends” of lawmakers instead of going on the lowest/best bid process that normal businesses would practice.
•    Find something else to tax first!  Find a few more suitable ways to get tax moneys.  We have casinos, and tons of bars perhaps tax them a bit more?
•    Promote business to come to our state rather than scare them away.  Raising business tax is going to scare business away not bring them in.
•    To go along with business promote better decision making by cities.  To often you hear of a large business being turned away or discouraged to open up by a group of government officials or misinformed citizens raising a stink.

OMG SNOWZ!

So I live in Illinois, born and raised, and it isn't a surprise that winter brings snow.  So why is this dusting we are having today causing so many problems on the road!!!?!??!

People if you live in IL especially near Chicago expect snow during the winter!  The news forecast this it just got a late start and to top it all off it isn't even that much accumulation!

I know what the problem is, we had a couple weeks of dry roads and you though spring was here right?

No seriously people just try and slow down while driving and be more careful then normal and you wont fail!

The Westboro whack jobs are at it again.

We all remember the ass hats that picket the funerals of fallen soldiers, hold signs up that say "God hates fags" at gay events, and now they intend to demonstrated at the funeral of the 9 year old girl who died in the shooting last Saturday in addition to the other victims.

They claim God "sent the shooter to deal with idolatress America".  Pretty sure they are just a bunch of brain washed clowns lead by their fearless leader Fred Phelps.  Actually if you think about it we should feel sorry for the lost individuals and their children who they are dragging down along with them.  If any of these people have bothered to read the bible instead of following the ignorance of their "teacher" they could see how all of their actions are flawed.  I honestly don't know what there mission statement is or how they justify their actions mainly because I don't find it necessary to visit the site.  However looks like the site is down hopefully victim of a DDoS

I plan on pointing out how they themselves fail as Christians after the cut.

Just like the radical groups that plague other religions, these people really don't do Christianity any favors.  Each time these clowns mobilize it reflects not only on Christians as a whole but our country.  I bet Iran is laughing at us calling us a bunch of fucktards.

Like I said earlier I am not sure how they can justify their actions but in the Bible it is clearly written that while acts of Homosexuality is a sin, we are to hate the sin and not the sinner.  In other words if your neighbor is gay you shouldn't take it on yourself to be a righteous judge and jury for his sins but rather accept him for the person he is and leave it at that.  Jesus came to save sinners and he was forgiving enough to do so and by that group picketing they are doing the exact opposite of what the Bible teaches, in other words they are hypocrites and sinning in the acts the participate in. If they are true Christians they are called to live life as close to Jesus as humanly possible and well they are FAILING in every way possible.

Gabrielle Gifford: The aftermath

Two days ago Gabrielle Gifford, Arizona Democrat, was shot by Jared Loughner putting her in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head her recovery is not clear.

While Loughner failed in his assassination attempt it did not come without the cost of other lives of six people and injuring many.

Now many families are morning the loss of loved ones and trying to fathom what would drive a man to do all this.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all those involved in this difficult time.

It is unfortunate that during this time mass media has decided to profit from others losses.  As it stands there is a radio show that is being blamed for what has happened as they had aired an interview in which they disagreed with Gabrielle, poloticians are now planning more gun control laws, and Sarah Palin is some how implicated because of a web site that had various Democrats in cross hairs.

Who ever started up this media shit storm should be slapped silly, in a time of sorrow and need only a media clown shoe would whip up a shit storm and profit.    I have a few more thoughts if you want to continue to read after the break.
Theses are just the few things I noticed while reading the news and such so I am sure there are many more out there but I want to quickly address the following.

  • Gun Control: Politicians use any instance of gun violence as a method of trying to pass a new gun law, now that this has happened to one of their own they can use her as a spring board for any bill from this point forward.  Fact is that if guns were not available this man would have used a bow, no bow?? How about a knife, wait no knife??  Sharp stick or rock anyone.  Fact is gun laws do not lower violent crime but rather chance them, ask a Police officer in England if they worry about getting shot, they will probably say no but I worry about getting stabbed.
  • Radio show blame?!?!  Really? Come the "f" on!!  Turn on your radio, switch it to AM and on any given day you will run into countless talk stations that are either conservative or liberal each of which will have guests from the opposite party on and proceed to argue with them over everything!!  Pretty sure there is nothing wrong with debate and it is governments fault all together that the parties act like two teenage girls fighting over who is going to ask the star QB out to the dance!  So give it a rest you clown shoes!
  • Sarah Palin crosshairs: This goes right back to the radio show thing.  Politics have become like a high school drama show.  Basically pissing matches on everything and how I can make the other person look stupid.  So Sarah Palins crosshairs while probably lacking in taste was not an invitation for someone to go hunting!!!
In the end the shooters seems like a nut job and that's about it.   So quit trying to profit off of this report the facts and move on!

Turn Signal Tuesday

Over the weekend I found myself running on the road more than just to and from work.  One thing I have noticed is people seem to get enjoyment out of NOT using their turn signals and almost getting blasted.

Now I am guilty of changing lanes without signaling but typically only when there arent any other vehicles around, this doesnt make it right but I never pull a quick change in traffic without signaling.  The cars have signals people why not use them now and again?

That is why tomorrow is "Turn signal Tuesday!"  Make it a point to alert your fellow drivers before you intend to cut across three lanes of traffic for no particular reason only to go back to your original lane.

Monday morning nut punch

Let me start by stating that I hate Mondays in general let alone the morning part.  It is way to early for this crap 4AM comes way to fast no matter what time you go to sleep the night before.

First thing I heard on the radio this morning was how I should be drinking five hour energy to start my morning instead of my cup of coffee and to that I say no thank you sir!  Have you guys tried that stuff?  It tastes like sour ass but it sure does give you the kick in the ass as far as energy is concerned, I used to drink it before late night raids in Vanilla WoW

So boys and girls enjoy this video of a guy getting nut slapped and have have great Monday!

Files this in things Apple should have done a long time ago

Looks as if the Apple I-Phone will be available through Verizon in the near future ending AT&T’s rain of terror, and terrible service this may be small step towards other providers having the phone as well but only time will tell.

Now personally I think the I-Phone is not nearly as bad ass as everyone makes it out to be.  It seems to be quite overpriced for what it can actually do and every new release of the phone has what seems to be a built in handicap in one way or another, be it picture messaging or no flash.

My guess would be Apple is looking to grab up the people who fall in the “damn I wish I could get an I-Phone but I sure as hell won’t be swapping to ATT” group.  Their device has been contending with a slew of newer devices specifically those running Android that provide a lot of the same functions if not more at fast speed and users choice of networks.

So way to go Apple being elitist and shit with your phone just like you were with your other products!  This time I think you screwed yourself, good game!

Bulletstorm:Shitstorm is a coming...maybe

Coming 2-2-11 from EA/Epic, Bulletstorm definitely is looking very interesting to me.  In what could be a huge failure is still better than another title from the Call of Duty franchise, that crap needs to die in a fire.

Bulletstorm looks to be a fast paced sci/fi type of shooter with a nice story to go along with it.  With all we I have to go on it looks like it may have a decent single player story with a standard multiplayer option set.

What makes this game stand out to me is for once it isn't more of the same!  Pretty tired of war games that are either exactly the same or trying really damn hard to be the same.  Add to that why the hell would you have dumb MP modes and weapon configurations on what is suppose to be "modern war game" pretty sure if just carrying a knife around made you run at super human speeds and allowed you to one shot slice your enemy well that's all the arm forces would do, but I digress.

Check out the Bulletstorm demo and more of my thoughts after the cut.

Epic has always been good at serving up something different and in a world that is not suppose to resemble anything "real" I welcome some off the wall game dynamics.  Bulletstorm really raised the bar on creative game play rewarding players for finding ridiculous ways to kill your enemy and rewarding you for it.

Without a working demo it is hard to to give proper review as far as game play it could be terribad, only way to find out is to buy it and try which sucks, no one wants to dish out $50.00 for something that may suck balls.

Check out the video and see what you think, I am looking forward to the release but not sure if I will be making the purchase, as a PC gamer I do not have the luxury of selling it back at gamestop.

Coming to a Illinois year you! "Raising Taxes"

As a Illinois resident it doesn't come as much of a surprise when the news came out that taxes are going to be increased by as much as 75%, for a long while Illinois has been struggling to stay ahead of the massive debt that was piling up now thanks to the years and years of political corruption that has and still plagues the state.

I can definitely understand where Pat Q. and his guys are coming from being in debt is a crappy deal especially for all the citizens of the state but hey man we have been broke as a joke for years before you came around! How about before you punish the hard working individuals you explore other options?
  1. Trim the budget and do less with more.  This is a fairly common business practice, why not give it a try?
  2. Reduce pension and bonus funds.  Does Mr. Hairy Dick need a $500,00+ bonus each year?  Pretty sure he doesn't and he can pass on the new yacht he was looking at buying this year!
  3. Make free money work!  Here is an idea all those on social programs, in which tax payers are handing out money to those who feel entitled make, make them work!!!!! For every one person on a state or other funded program that actually is going through a hardship and needs it there is 10+ that are screwing the system!  We all go to work to earn money to pay our bills why not make those who are being handed a check because they are "less fortunate" work for a change.  If we are paying them find something for them to do!
  4. Find other taxable items, medicinal Marijuana. Now some may find this extremely radical but hear me out.  It is fact that there are a number of illness and injury that cause a great deal of pain and to deal with said pain individuals have come to rely on medication to help them.  Problem with that is alot of the "good" stuff is a narcotic substance that in the case of some may be addictive and in many cases lose its usefulness over time requiring an large dosage in turn becoming dangerous.  Add to that all the other things that go along with taking prescription medicine allergies, adverse reactions, and so forth.  Legalize marijuana for medicinal use tax the pot and call it a day.  Yes it is more complicated that I made it seem but this is not a POT post so I will save that for my next one.
Four thoughts I provided the state of Illinois for free!  However I have a lot more if they chose to contract my services and since that would do the opposite for the budget it wouldn't surprise me if they did

Wintereenmas already

I guess it is that time of year again.  You would know that if you would ever go to Ctrl+Alt+Del!

Teaching Fail...or student win?

Teaching fail!! Looks like this chick was giving some hands on physical education lessons to a 16 year old student.  Only problem was instead of playing some ball in the gym she was working out the kinks in the back of the car in a Kohl's parking lot!

I don't know if I were 16 years old... Anyhow bond for her is at $75,000.  I wonder how this all transpired???
Student: Hey teach, youre pretty hot wanna do it?
Teacher:OK
Student:Sweet meet me a Kohls parking lot I will bring the shagin wagon
Teacher:Great idea no one will ever find out, see you then!

Good work both of you for achieving two very different failures at the same time!

Fail to riches???

I imagine this could be considered a true "rags to riches" story, but what probably is a stroke of luck assisted by Youtube and 4chanTed Williams the homeless man who first appeared in a YouTube video that went viral in 24 hours seems to have landed a job with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I first came across Ted two days ago while trolling on /b/ have to admit the man has quite the radio voice, however the man does not possess the power of healing by his voice alone so what makes him special and the countless others who are actually going to broadcast school not??  The answer after the break.

NOTHING!!! That's right not a damn thing, fact is he is homeless and less fortunate than the rest of us which makes his story along with others less fortunate more alluring to the rest of us.  Some individuals with free time on there hand made a video then decided to post it on YouTube not with the intent on making the man a viral video star but to likely just to share what they thought was cool.

Enter 4Chan and other internet sites that noticed this video and within 24 hours the views jumped by the minute.  Ted Williams was once a homeless man, unemployed and probably having a hard time finding a meal now finds himself working for the "Cavs".  Hopefully he can feed his family and make a better life for himself and his children now.

Ted Williams accomplished over the course of  72 hours what students spending years in college may never accomplish in their life.  I am not saying Ted did not deserve this but at the very least he needs to take this and make the best of it, and at the very least record something for Moot and the rest of the /b/ nation out there thanking them for the mass "bump"
